
Evan Boyd
Evan Boyd is an accomplished operations executive with nearly 30 years of leadership experience, including more than two decades in the waste and recycling industry. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for revitalizing underperforming operations, driving organizational performance, and successfully leading complex, multi-site businesses.
Evan joined Recology in February 2022 as Assistant Region Manager for the South Bay Region while simultaneously serving as General Manager for Recology’s San Mateo County operations. In May 2023, he became Vice President & Region Manager, assuming responsibility for all Recology operations across San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties.
Prior to joining Recology, Evan spent 15 years with Republic Services, where he held a series of senior leadership positions. As Area Director of Operations for California, he oversaw 19 business units serving more than 80 municipalities throughout the state. His portfolio included 10 landfills, 6 material recovery facilities (MRFs), 11 transfer stations, and 3 compost facilities. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Evan served on Republic’s Labor Relations Tactical Team, helping develop labor strategies and supporting collective bargaining efforts across California.
Evan’s experience also includes public-sector leadership. From September 2010 to July 2011, he served as Director of Public Works for the City of Redwood City, where he was responsible for overseeing municipal infrastructure and public service operations. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in both aerospace and consumer products manufacturing, further strengthening his expertise in managing complex operational environments.
A strong advocate for community engagement, Evan has served on the Board of Directors for the Doelger Senior Center and the North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center. He has also served multiple terms with Chamber San Mateo County, the Daly City/Colma Chamber of Commerce, and the former Belmont Chamber of Commerce.
Evan has been a resident of San Carlos for more than 25 years.
