Genentech Celebrates 40!

40 years ago Genentech started an experiment that gave rise to an industry. Each week throughout the coming year they will share some of the moments that have defined their journey.

SAMCEDA is proud to have Genentech as a key member and partner as they represent the fabric of San Mateo County and the City of South San Francisco.

Building strong relationships with the local community and being a good neighbor has always been important to Genentech. For more than 20 years, the company's annual "Genentech Goes to Town" event has encouraged employees to patronize local businesses, support schools, and participate in community life. Bio Technology has become a core part of the curriculum in South San Francisco schools from elementary grades on with partnerships from the company and active involvement from its employees.
